The World's Worst Wedding Log
I’m not cleaning the timestamps. Sorry.
Also, it’s really, really, long. If you want to read it, you may wish to have a good chunk of time reserved.
The Edited Version.
Night Before the Wedding.
[2/18/2012 3:11:32 PM] Sebastian: [GM] That night, you meet Allaiua or however her name is spelled in the palace courtyard. She seems as if she’s been waiting there a while.
[2/18/2012 3:12:40 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay is semi-hiding behind Sebastian.
[2/18/2012 3:12:57 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian prods him out with his tail.
[2/18/2012 3:13:35 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay squeaks and instead grabs his sleeve instead.
[2/18/2012 3:15:57 PM] Sebastian: [Alleuia] “Oh, Hello!” she calls out, walking towards you four. Then she adds, “Orren’s told me about the problem. But I’m not sure if acting today would be the best option.”
[2/18/2012 3:20:23 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay gives her a little, nervous smile. “Um.. Hello…” He listens, still attatched to Sebastian, the frowns. “Well.. What are we supposed to do then?”
[2/18/2012 3:21:06 PM] Sebastian: [Alleuia]: “Well, we should talk to her either tomorrow night, after the wedding, or the day after. She is the maid of honor, after all.”
[2/18/2012 3:24:06 PM] Sebastian: [Alleuia]: “But then again….” she looks at Maelys-" I know you’re friends with Monroe, and I don’t want to put his life in danger. How close do you think he is to dying, or is it not that serious?"
[2/18/2012 3:27:10 PM] Maelys: Maelys frowns. “Something needs to be done soon, but I think if we act within the next day or two it should be all right.”
[2/18/2012 3:27:41 PM] Sebastian: [Alleuia]: “So then, what day do you think is best? Tomorrow night or the night afterwards?”
[2/18/2012 3:30:33 PM] Maelys: Maelys considers. “I would say tomorrow night, sooner is better in this case.”
[2/18/2012 3:31:03 PM] Sebastian: [Alleuia]: “Alright then, we’ll do it after the wedding party is over.”
The Day of the Wedding
[2/18/2012 3:34:18 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: It’s day of the royal wedding, and all of Uldok is filled with anticipation to this exciting event. The party has recieved tickets, except for Ehimay who will be backstage tending the animals, as Chrysal has hired him to.
[2/18/2012 3:34:47 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: I suppose Mikheal cannot attend the wedding due to his wife being too pregnant, or something.
[2/18/2012 3:35:12 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay raher sad that he can’t really attend, but he’s taking care of a bunch of cute animals, who all love him, so it’s okay…
[2/18/2012 3:35:30 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Make a handle animal check.
[2/18/2012 3:36:24 PM] Ehimay: 31
[2/18/2012 3:36:29 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Only one pony bites you.
[2/18/2012 3:36:54 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay sniffles and scolds the pony. Thinks that it’s the pony belonging to that crazy bitch from before.
[2/18/2012 3:37:37 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Your dislike for Scula is awe-insipring. Okay, the wedding for the rest of you people starts at noon.
They didn’t actually decide when they arrived. Either way, it didn’t matter.
[2/18/2012 3:43:32 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: The Tsar’s palace, like most palaces, has a rather large garden. Usually protected by both walls and a glass dome from the city, today the dome has been taken down, although there is a magical force-field surrounding the top. The main entrance into the garden is by way of a large gate, one side of which is open, but partically fenced so that the only way into the garden is by a line that has formed. Guards at the entry point check the invitations, which you have brought.
Inside the garden, it has been extensively re-arranged. A large stage is at the far end of it, two-storied and decorated with flowers. It is made of carved wood, depicting scenes from nature especially cranes laying eggs in the woods. On the stage are chairs, four large ones and several smaller ones, a chest, and a small table. On the upper stage, there is little decoration except for a crane banner flag hanging down.
The flowers have been moved to create an aisle that leads from the gate to the stage, and the aisle has been covered in a blue carpet. On each side of the aisle, twelve structures of wood and vine rise up. They are like little booths, suspended about 30 feet in the air. Each one has a staircase that leads up to it.
[2/18/2012 3:48:09 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: You see various people at the wedding you could sit with! Monroe and von Wolff are there together, Monroe leaning on von Wolff for support. Valista or whatever is there as well, as is Alleuia. That old wizard from across the street, one of the pair of twins, and the ranger.
[2/18/2012 3:50:14 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: A really odd sight is that there’s this really dark-skinned, beautiful woman with stork wings and an enormous enterouge, but nobody really seems to notice her.
[2/18/2012 3:53:47 PM] Gertrude: Gertrude would like to go sit at the forever alone table
[2/18/2012 3:55:12 PM] Sebastian: [GM] Sebastian is going to go sit with von Wolff and Monroe, incase the wedding gets boring.
[2/18/2012 3:55:30 PM] Sebastian: [GM] What about Maelys?
[2/18/2012 4:03:07 PM] Maelys: Maelys decides to sit with Monroe, Sebbie and Von Wolff, but goes over to say hi to Alleiua first and ask her if she knows who random wing-lady is.
[2/18/2012 4:03:37 PM] Sebastian: [Alleiua]:“What winged woman?”
[2/18/2012 4:06:43 PM] Maelys: Maelys gestures towards the woman, but at this point doesn’t really expect Alleiua to see her. "There’s a woman over there, with wings- Stork wings I think.
[2/18/2012 4:06:51 PM] Maelys: Maelys thinks it is probably the Tsar’s mother.
She was correct.
[2/18/2012 4:07:52 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay is sooo bored, though he doing his job.
[2/18/2012 4:09:24 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Okay, you four go to sit in one booth. Gertrude attempts to go sit in a forever alone booth, but almost all of them are full, or have at least one person. The one with the least people is currently occupied by a sleeping couatl. (Hold yer horses Marl)
DND CREATURES TIME: Though Couatl usually just means serphant or snake, in DnD it refers to a specific race of feathered rainbow snakes.
[2/18/2012 4:12:55 PM] Sebastian: As minutes pass, the crowd suddenly becomes quiet for unknown reasons. As they do, an orchestra begins to play, and you can hear your neighbor Jakin begin to sing “Preserve Uldok”, a song that I really wish I could give you the lyrics to. Trust me, I totally do. Really. As he sings, from the end of the aisle, where two large walls have suddenly been erected, three young girls you’ve never seen before emerge. One appears to be Pippin’s sister, the second is a young, winged redhead, and the last has curly white and purple hair. It’s hard to see the details on them from this far away. The ones on both ends carry boxes, while the redhead in the middle holds a crown of flowers. Following them is a group of twelve, people ranging in age from younger teenagers to older adults, all dressed in white robes. The ones in front wear dark green cloaks, the ones in the middle middle green and embroidered in gold, and the last ones wearing white cloaks with silver decorations. They carry wooden staves, except for the ones in back who carry branches.
Next comes Iris, arms linked with a man you’ve never seen before, one who looks much like Vizier Helorie. Both wear military uniforms, though Iris’s is her usual uniform and not an Uldoki one. After her is Pippin in a simple yellow dress, escorting an elderly man who could be the father of the one who came before him. A young man who you assume could be Pippin’s brother accompanies a lovely young woman who I will just go out and say is Helorie’s sister. Pippin’s hypothetical brother is wearing a uniform similar to Iris’s, with different insignia.
Lastly, another man arrives with a blond woman who looks a bit dazed. He doesn’t look much like anyone you’ve seen here, though his clothes identify him as a priest of Melkar. The woman is wearing a lovely blue dress with meshes very well with her wings.
As these people arrive at these stage, they stand at it, at attention. Instead of splitting up by gender, half of the people (those that look like the Vizier and the priest of Melkar) split off to one side, and the others (Iris, Pippin, Pippin’s brother, and the blond woman) go to the other. The druids stand at the sides of the aisle, and only the girls with the boxes actually set foot on the stage, standing in the middle of it.
[2/18/2012 4:18:38 PM] Sebastian: The music ends, and it is silent for a long moment. Suddenly, the chirping of birds can be heard, picking out a simple but beautiful melody. But nothing happens until the Tsar, dressed in an ornate military uniform and wearing an elaborate crown walks down the aisle, arm in arm with Scula. In his other hand is a septer, which you’ve also never seen before. Despite her size and back-spikes, it isn’t that awkward for the two of them to walk down the aisle. Scula is dressed in a glorious gown, which is rather star-themed. It doesn’t match as well as it should, and sparkles somewhat. But finally, the bride walks down the aisle.
Her dress is a cream shade, with light green accents, and is extremely lovely. In fact, you would almost call it a Gown of Fashion Alleuia) are fighting a thing one of the assassins summoned on the stage. Also, Ehimay came back in time to finish his turn!
[2/18/2012 6:15:22 PM] Ehimay: rolled 29 26 20 24 21 19
[2/18/2012 6:16:00 PM] Sebastian: They each hit. Now roll your damage for each one.
[2/18/2012 6:17:33 PM] Ehimay: 13 12 14 9 15 14
[2/18/2012 6:18:49 PM] Sebastian: 77 damage
[2/18/2012 6:20:37 PM] Sebastian: okay, now Rakin.
[2/18/2012 6:20:51 PM] Sebastian: He delays his turn until Sebastian heals him.
[2/18/2012 6:21:43 PM] Sebastian: Wait, not heal him, I mean cast evolution surge on him.
[2/18/2012 6:21:55 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay reloads his gun for the next turn
[2/18/2012 6:22:43 PM] Sebastian: Next, Sebastian again.
It was revealed that I kept forgetting that the monsters actually had turns.
[2/18/2012 6:23:15 PM] Sebastian: Gertrude, Ehimay, which of you is closer to this man?
[2/18/2012 6:23:45 PM] Ehimay: Well, Ehimay would be the maximum distance away from the man in order fo his guns to still work
[2/18/2012 6:24:43 PM] Sebastian: Okay, three hits against Gertrude.
[2/18/2012 6:26:04 PM] Sebastian: 24+19+16
[2/18/2012 6:27:25 PM] Sebastian: Suddenly, a sinister cloud appears, engulfing Ehimay. Along with this, a pony lets out a terrifed neigh as it is decapitated by a bladed scarf! And a beautiful but terrifying pale woman emerges from the rubble near the blood assasin guy. Touching him with a hand that crackes with dark energy, the bullet holes are wiped away. He lets out a grunt and holds his swords harder, ready to attack next turn.
[2/18/2012 6:31:16 PM] Sebastian: Next it is Sebastian’s turn.
[2/18/2012 6:31:42 PM] Sebastian: He casts Evolution surge, Lesser on Rakin, and the Eidolon sprouts wings.
[2/18/2012 6:31:51 PM] Sebastian: Maelys?
[[2/18/2012 6:32:45 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay’s freaking out like you don’t even know.
[2/18/2012 6:33:13 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay’s also, freaking out about the horse.
[2/18/2012 6:33:45 PM] Maelys: Maelys plops down the hapless civilians at a safe distance from the chaos and begins to fly back to aid her friends because she’s not a massive jerk.
[2/18/2012 6:34:25 PM] Maelys: Maelys is happy to be flying despite the awful situation because flying is freaking awesome.
[2/18/2012 6:38:19 PM] Sebastian: Just going to go out on a limb there and assume that as the knowledge-master of the party, you know that they’re undead.
[2/18/2012 6:38:41 PM] Sebastian: The woman is a GHOUL, and the man is a bloodknight.
I then summarized the situation, which is far more obvious for our readers at home. 9(?) 20-30 level NPCs fighting another 25-30 level NPC. A giant, sinister cloud to the right, with Ehimay trapped in it. von Wolff and Sebastian hanging out with winged Rakin. Gertrude horribly near a bloodknight and vampire cleric. Dead civilians mostly to the right. Maelys in her dragon form hovering above.
[2/18/2012 6:42:50 PM] Sebastian: Okay, Trudy.
[2/18/2012 6:43:25 PM] Gertrude: I want to fly as far as possible from the enemies and use a cure crit wounds extract on myself
[2/18/2012 6:43:38 PM] Sebastian: Roll your healing.
[2/18/2012 6:44:57 PM] Gertrude: kay so i healed 32
[2/18/2012 6:45:03 PM] Sebastian: Okay, Ehimay
[2/18/2012 6:45:19 PM] Sebastian: You are in a giant cloud, and you can’t see anything around you.
[2/18/2012 6:45:50 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay attempts to escape the cloud, his guns ready to fire.
[2/18/2012 6:46:47 PM] Sebastian: As you attempt to run out, two hands reach out at you, does 26 hit?
[2/18/2012 6:47:23 PM] Ehimay: it’s a 21, it hits
[2/18/2012 6:48:03 PM] Sebastian: Okay, the hand grabs Ehimay as he runs past, doing 7 damage, plus he gains two negative levels. However, you do get out of the cloud.
[2/18/2012 6:49:36 PM] Sebastian: Next… von Wolff!!
[2/18/2012 6:50:48 PM] Sebastian: he climbs up on Rakin’s back, because Rakin can fly now. Rakin is not very happy at this, but allows him to. Next, Rakin’s turn… he flies over the cloud so that von Wolff can attempt to bomb it.
[2/18/2012 6:51:32 PM] Sebastian: Okay, Monsters.
[2/18/2012 6:54:39 PM] Sebastian: WHERE IS YOU MAELYS
[2/18/2012 6:56:58 PM] Sebastian: Oh no wait this is a close range spell. Make a fortitude save.
[2/18/2012 6:58:30 PM] Maelys: I rolled a 19
(Although the point of this is to clip out the massive amount of occ conversation for brevity/clearness, this was too priceless to remove.)
[2/18/2012 6:58:52 PM] Sebastian: um how many hit points do you have?
[2/18/2012 6:58:56 PM] Maelys: …
[2/18/2012 6:59:02 PM] Maelys: 56
[2/18/2012 6:59:08 PM] Sebastian: Well
[2/18/2012 6:59:16 PM] Maelys: DID YOU JUST KILL ME
[2/18/2012 6:59:16 PM] Sebastian: I’m sure Allaieua can ressurect you.
[2/18/2012 6:59:18 PM] Maelys: CAROLIIIIINE
[2/18/2012 6:59:32 PM] Sebastian: Wait, she’s an oracle and she’s there.
[2/18/2012 6:59:43 PM] Maelys: CAROLIIIIIINE
[2/18/2012 6:59:56 PM] Sebastian: Alleuia, noticing that some random dragon who was apparently helping them just died, goes over and casts breath of life on you.
[2/18/2012 7:00:15 PM] Maelys: How many hp do I get back?
[2/18/2012 7:01:03 PM] Sebastian: 60 hp
[2/18/2012 7:01:21 PM] Sebastian: she then goes back to fighting the random thing.
Nobody actually bothered to ask what it was. That’s good because I never figured out what it was.
[2/18/2012 7:06:24 PM] Sebastian: Okay, now the witch.
[2/18/2012 7:06:32 PM] Sebastian: her cloud expands, engulfing Ehimay again.
[2/18/2012 7:06:46 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian’s turn.
[2/18/2012 7:07:11 PM] Sebastian: After seeing Maelys die, he is going to try to kill the one who killed her. First he hides so he can sneak attack. Then, four arrows. One hits, dealing 36 damage.
It is explained that the cloud is clearly magic because it is dark black with purple lightning inside. Also, two ponies and three children were killed last turn.
[2/18/2012 7:16:52 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay cries
[2/18/2012 7:18:12 PM] Gertrude: Imma cast mah firebawlz!
[2/18/2012 7:18:27 PM] Sebastian: now it’s 11d6!
[2/18/2012 7:20:16 PM] Gertrude: 53
[2/18/2012 7:21:11 PM] Sebastian: Okay, they are damaged but not dead.
[2/18/2012 7:22:09 PM] Sebastian: Next, Ehimay!
[2/18/2012 7:22:23 PM] Ehimay: He’s attempting to leave the cloud again
[2/18/2012 7:22:32 PM] Sebastian: The hands miss you this time.
[2/18/2012 7:23:14 PM] Ehimay: alright, he’s aimg for the girl who killed Maelys. Ehimay aims and pulls the trigger, rolled a 32
(While I corrected it like most errors, Mel originally spelled Maelys’s name Mailease, which is the best misspelling ever. Beatrice, I officially vote you name your head-baby (or possible actual egg-baby) Mailease.)
[2/18/2012 7:24:16 PM] Sebastian: Yes it hits!!
[2/18/2012 7:25:09 PM] Sebastian: 16 damage.
[2/18/2012 7:25:13 PM] Ehimay: nods
[2/18/2012 7:25:39 PM] Sebastian: You participated. Good job, now the cloud engulfs you again.
[2/18/2012 7:26:01 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay begins to freak out once more.
[2/18/2012 7:26:22 PM] Sebastian: von Wolff throws a bomb down!
[2/18/2012 7:27:48 PM] Sebastian: It hits for 59 damage.
[2/18/2012 7:27:59 PM] Sebastian: He was able to tell by Ehimay’s scream where the woman was in the cloud.
[2/18/2012 7:28:28 PM] Sebastian: A child screams as it is decaptiated
[2/18/2012 7:29:49 PM] Sebastian: The bloodknight crosses his swords and drinks a potion.
[2/18/2012 7:29:57 PM] Sebastian: Goitruayudd, make a foritude save!
(… Goitruayudd was on purpose)
[2/18/2012 7:32:31 PM] Gertrude: fuck my fortitude 17
[2/18/2012 7:33:35 PM] Sebastian: You are staggered next round as you gasp for breath.
[2/18/2012 7:33:42 PM] Sebastian: As in, you can’t move and attack. So you’ll have to land. Or just fly next turn
Awkwardly conveniently for the party, I forgot the other two rounds of the spell “Suffocation”.
[2/18/2012 7:34:52 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian’s turn!
[2/18/2012 7:34:55 PM] Sebastian: He will shoot!
[2/18/2012 7:35:47 PM] Sebastian: He took an arrow to the foot. Two arrows, in fact. The next two hit the target.
[2/18/2012 7:37:00 PM] Sebastian: 61 damage.
[2/18/2012 7:41:27 PM] Gertrude: oh alright, I’ll land and bomb
[2/18/2012 7:42:56 PM] Gertrude: alright so I got 23, does it hit? on the ghoul
[2/18/2012 7:43:19 PM] Sebastian: yes
[[2/18/2012 7:43:40 PM] Gertrude: 25 damage
[2/18/2012 7:44:30 PM] Sebastian: you barely killed it, but she collapses in tears
[2/18/2012 7:45:56 PM] Gertrude: I have 12 splash damage btw
[2/18/2012 7:46:45 PM] Sebastian: Okay, Maelys
[2/18/2012 7:47:29 PM] Maelys: 26, plus 10 (since I’ve got a negative level now)
[2/18/2012 7:47:32 PM] Maelys: So 36 damage: ON HIS FACE
[2/18/2012 7:47:55 PM] Sebastian: His face looks slightly uglier
[2/18/2012 7:49:04 PM] Sebastian: EHIMAYYY
[2/18/2012 7:49:08 PM] Sebastian: ITS YOH TURN
[2/18/2012 7:49:30 PM] Ehimay: Alright… Attempting to escape AGAIN
[2/18/2012 7:50:41 PM] Sebastian: AC?
[2/18/2012 7:51:12 PM] Sebastian: Okay she missed again. You are now outside the cloud!
[2/18/2012 7:51:35 PM] Sebastian: Wanna shoot ugly guy in the face?
[2/18/2012 7:51:38 PM] Ehimay: YES
[2/18/2012 7:53:24 PM] Ehimay: 14 damage?
[2/18/2012 7:53:53 PM] Sebastian: Okay, von Wolff.
[2/18/2012 7:54:43 PM] Sebastian: 50 damage
[2/18/2012 7:54:58 PM] Sebastian: to the cloud
With a wink, you can see a red flash, as if someone has teleported away.
[2/18/2012 7:56:14 PM] Sebastian: Maelys, what you AC
[2/18/2012 7:57:16 PM] Maelys: 24
[2/18/2012 7:57:48 PM] Sebastian: 31 (for attack)
[2/18/2012 7:59:54 PM] Sebastian: it was 52 damage.
[2/18/2012 8:00:20 PM] Sebastian: Now, cloud.
[2/18/2012 8:00:33 PM] Sebastian: The cloud turns into a woman, who flies up to attack Rakin and vW
[2/18/2012 8:00:45 PM] Sebastian: But she spends all her time getting up there.
[2/18/2012 8:00:53 PM] Sebastian: Now, Sebastian.
[2/18/2012 8:00:57 PM] Sebastian: He will shoot the lady.
[2/18/2012 8:02:34 PM] Sebastian: He shoots arrows at her, one hits but pierces her through the heart, finally killing her.
[2/18/2012 8:02:39 PM] Sebastian: Now it’s only ugly man.
[2/18/2012 8:04:47 PM] Sebastian: Just bite his head off.
[2/18/2012 8:05:23 PM] Maelys: Maelys bites the ugly blood knight’s head off with gusto
[2/18/2012 8:05:37 PM] Sebastian: About twenty seconds after you finish him off, you hear a crackling explosion, and it seems like the people on the stage have finished their fight as well.
[2/18/2012 8:06:44 PM] Sebastian: They seem bloodied, but all alive, except for one of the druids.
[2/18/2012 8:06:54 PM] Sebastian: Chrysal starts to cry, but the Tsar puts an arm around her shoulder, and lets her sob onto him.
[2/18/2012 8:08:47 PM] Sebastian: Alleuia comes up to you.
[2/18/2012 8:09:22 PM] Sebastian: Alleuia: “…so you’re a dragon? Or was that a spell?”
[2/18/2012 8:09:55 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay is crying where he was before
[2/18/2012 8:10:24 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian puts his bow away, and goes over to Rakin and von Wolff, who have landed.
[2/18/2012 8:11:00 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian hugs him closely, somewhat panicked.
[2/18/2012 8:11:53 PM] Sebastian: But then pulls away, attempting to calm down Ehimay.
[2/18/2012 8:12:22 PM] Maelys: Maelys smiles a little nervously. “Well… yes, I am a dragon. It’s not something I mention normally, but the situation seemed to call for drastic measures.”
[2/18/2012 8:12:24 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian “Don’t worry. I’m sure that we could bring them back to life, or even if we can’t they’re with Oppo now. You worship Oppo, right?”
Note: This applies to dead animals, not dead children. Dead animals go live with Oppo at his dad’s place, which is somewhat full of dead animals by this point. Dead children, like all dead people, may go to a variety of places. (Dead intelligent animals, such as unicorns, are judged as people, although almost all unicorns go to Elolei)
[2/18/2012 8:13:30 PM] Sebastian: Alleuia:“Oh, that makes sense. The Tsar seemed to make a lot of wierd comments about you…”
[2/18/2012 8:14:21 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay nods, rubbing his eyes a little. “Y-yes.. And Oppo is the kindest being I know.. He’ll take good care of them..” He turns to squeeze Sebastian, not wanting to look at the decapitated little kid anymore.
[2/18/2012 8:15:18 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian , not the best at comforting people, looks at von Wolff like “save me”, but von Wolff just shruggs his shoulders.
[2/18/2012 8:16:11 PM] Maelys: Maelys replies to Alleuia, “Oh yes, the Tsar saw through me right away, of course.”
[2/18/2012 8:16:48 PM] Sebastian: GM: The Tsar whispers something to Chrysal, who pulls back, and goes down to talk to you. Also, Alleuia replies, “He does that to people. You can almost never keep secrets from him.”
[2/18/2012 8:19:19 PM] Gertrude: Gertrude “Whats up with all these people secretly being something else? You guys better watch out else I’mma reveal that I’m really a bewitched mushroom”
[2/18/2012 8:23:23 PM] Sebastian: GM: The Tsar comes down to address you people. “I knew that I made a wise decision in hiring you four. This disaster would have been even worse if you hadn’t been here.” He pauses and looks out at the bodies. “This may be a foolish choice, but the wedding will continue to go on as planned. I wish to show these assassins that their little attempt at disrupting the peace has made a small impact. Maelys, Alleuia, Chrysal, would you please resurrect as many of the dead as you can? Everyone else, try to get the survivors out of the booths or the wreckage.”
Thinking back on this event with what I know now of the characters powers, Helorie could have easily helped resurrect dead people, as he does know the spells. I guess the Tsar had something more important to do with him?
[2/18/2012 8:24:09 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay tries to smile at Gertrude, but still clings to Papa Sebastian.
[2/18/2012 8:24:42 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian is like “How has this adorable child latched himself to me”
[2/18/2012 8:25:06 PM] Gertrude: Gertrude “Thank you for the praise, we’ll get right on it” she smiles back Ehimay and goes to help get the survivors
[2/18/2012 8:25:19 PM] Gertrude: Gertrude is glad to be away from that awkward situation
[2/18/2012 8:28:11 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay shifts to hold Sebastian’s sleeve again. “I’ll.. I’ll help if there’s some way I can..”
[2/18/2012 8:28:39 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian “… well, I’m not exactly sure what you should do… I mean, what sort of spells do you have?”
[2/18/2012 8:28:48 PM] Maelys: Anyways can Alleuia cast Restoration on me before we do this whole resurrecting thing
[2/18/2012 8:29:35 PM] Sebastian: Yes, she does that.
[2/18/2012 8:30:09 PM] Gertrude: oh yeah, I’m greedy so i’mma cast cure light wounds on myself while I’m over there
[2/18/2012 8:30:17 PM] Gertrude: and by cast I mean drink/eat/consume
[2/18/2012 8:30:32 PM] Sebastian: Pop those spells in yoh mouth
[2/18/2012 8:32:00 PM] Maelys: Oh yeah, I should prolly heal up too, I have I think 7 health atm
[2/18/2012 8:32:23 PM] Maelys: Also I can resurrect exactly 1 dead person, I guess I’ll just grab the nearest dead child
[2/18/2012 8:32:36 PM] Sebastian: It pops back to life “hallo”
[2/18/2012 8:32:37 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay shakes his head.. "I only have attack spells… I never really.. You know.. Thought I’d have to heal anyone.. I was alone most of the time.
[2/18/2012 8:34:14 PM] Maelys: Maelys casts Cure Critical Wounds on two nearby critically-wounded survivors
[2/18/2012 8:34:28 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian tries to make an attempt to get out of this awkward conversation. “Welll yes like Gertrude said, why don’t you get the hourses to pull away the wreckage or see if the other animals are alright?”
[2/18/2012 8:34:52 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay nods quickly and rushes off to see if anything survived.
[2/18/2012 8:35:04 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Allauia goes around casting True Resurrections on sort of bone clumps.
[2/18/2012 8:35:18 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Or is that just normal resurrection?
It’s just normal resurrection.
[2/18/2012 8:35:38 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Most of the animals survived, although a one-winged dove died of fright
Another bit that I hadddd to keep.
[2/18/2012 8:35:52 PM] Ehimay: … You dick.
[2/18/2012 8:37:15 PM] Maelys: Maelys uses Speak With Dead on dead blood knight
[2/18/2012 8:37:42 PM] Sebastian: what do you ask??
[2/18/2012 8:38:08 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay tends to everypony and everything else
[2/18/2012 8:39:04 PM] Maelys: 1. Who is behind this attack?
[2/18/2012 8:39:16 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks.
[2/18/2012 8:39:46 PM] Sebastian: The Sanguine Order
[2/18/2012 8:39:59 PM] Sebastian: Somebody make a knowledge local
It turned out this is one of the few knowledge skills Maelys doesn’t have!
[2/18/2012 8:41:57 PM] Sebastian: ((Because Rakin is flying around pulling wreckage off survivors, probably von Wolff is flying and taking people down))
[2/18/2012 8:49:51 PM] Maelys: so 29?
[2/18/2012 8:52:29 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: The Sanguine Order is a guild of assasins, murders, and terrorists for hire, located out of Haimen. While some are just in it for the money, more are there because of their deep devotion to Terrimev. As God of Moral Ambiguity and Obedience, he is the sponsor of the guild. In Haimen, criminal guilds are tolerated as long as they register with the government and pay fees to operate.
[2/18/2012 8:53:01 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Most members of the order are undead, as the order offers
[2/18/2012 8:57:28 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “Are there any more attacks planned for the near future?”
[2/18/2012 8:59:26 PM] Sebastian: Answer: “We do not know the orders of the guild. We only know those we are assigned to”
[2/18/2012 8:59:49 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, "Who gave you the assignment?”
[2/18/2012 9:03:43 PM] Sebastian: 3. “I was ordered by Mistress Kandice.”
[2/18/2012 9:04:04 PM] Sebastian: ((Just another assasin i guess.))
[2/18/2012 9:04:42 PM] Maelys: Maelys looks around to see if anyone else recognizes the name
[2/18/2012 9:04:48 PM] Sebastian: NOPE
[2/18/2012 9:05:19 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “Who is Mistress Kandice?”
[2/18/2012 9:05:59 PM] Sebastian: 4. “The second in command of our order.”
[2/18/2012 9:06:31 PM] Sebastian: (From your knowledge: local check, you know that they consider Terrimev to be the head of their order, and that the higher up the person who gives the order is, the more important the client))
[2/18/2012 9:09:03 PM] Sebastian: FINAL QUESTION
[2/18/2012 9:09:08 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “Where can I find Mistress Kandice?”
[2/18/2012 9:10:13 PM] Sebastian: 5. "She is usually in the headquarters in Lanhe (the capital of Haimen)
[2/18/2012 9:10:53 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks Sebastian, “Do you think it’s worthwhile to interrogate any of the other corpses, to see if they know more?”
[2/18/2012 9:11:58 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian "Hmm…. what if we asked them what their exact orders were? For example, if there were any specific targets, or if the plan was just to cause as much chaos as possible?
[2/18/2012 9:15:15 PM] Sebastian: ((Get Chrysal to heal you. All she has is reincarnates, instead of raise deads))
[2/18/2012 9:15:52 PM] Sebastian: Okay, heal for 150.
[2/18/2012 9:16:22 PM] Maelys: What are my options, cloud-lady and ghoul-lady?
[2/18/2012 9:16:29 PM] Sebastian: cloud-lady and ghoul-lady
[2/18/2012 9:16:43 PM] Sebastian: ghoul-lady might be more helpful??
[2/18/2012 9:16:57 PM] Maelys: Maelys casts Speak to Dead on the ghoul-lady
[2/18/2012 9:17:09 PM] Sebastian: ASK YER QUARTSIONS
[2/18/2012 9:17:47 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “Who were the specific targets of this attack?”
[2/18/2012 9:20:20 PM] Sebastian: 1. Answer: The children of the president of Ilko were to be killed, and their souls captured. We were also to kill as many of the Tsar’s generals as we could, as well as Alleuia. Her soul was not to be destroyed or trapped. Chrysal was also to be killed, along with Iris and Pippin if possible. Scula was to remain untouched, along with Vizier Helorie.
[2/18/2012 9:22:21 PM] Maelys: ((What does capturing a soul entail, like should we be worried that they were trapped before all the attackers died))
[2/18/2012 9:22:40 PM] Sebastian: ((Capturing a soul means that they cannot be resurrected until the thing containing the soul is broken))
[2/18/2012 9:23:13 PM] Sebastian: ((Generally, gems are used, as they are small. If the soul must really not be freed, diamonds))
[2/18/2012 9:24:20 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “Where are the items you use to capture souls?”
[2/18/2012 9:25:20 PM] Sebastian: 2. “I put them in my pouch of transferal, and so they were sent to Mistress Kandice. She will most likely give them to the one who paid for this attack.”
[2/18/2012 9:26:13 PM] Maelys: ((Wait so she successfully captured the president’s children’s souls??))
[2/18/2012 9:26:22 PM] Sebastian: ((Yes.))
[2/18/2012 9:26:59 PM] Sebastian: Okay, 3 more questions!
[2/18/2012 9:28:04 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “What was the goal of capturing the children’s souls?”
[2/18/2012 9:29:06 PM] Sebastian: 3. To give them to the person who ordered the assasination.
[2/18/2012 9:30:24 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “Why were Scula and Helorie to be left unharmed?”
[2/18/2012 9:31:17 PM] Sebastian: 4. “My Lord Terrimev came to us in a dream and told us not to harm Scula, as he enjoyed her company and… well, she is sort of his friend. That was not part of the contract. Vizier Helorie I am uncertain about.”
[[2/18/2012 9:32:36 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “Who ordered the assassination?”
[2/18/2012 9:32:59 PM] Sebastian: 5. “I do not know.”
[2/18/2012 9:34:45 PM] Sebastian: ((I think you should have another round of questions, to ask where the fourth one went. You do realize there was a fourth attacker who teleported away, jyah?"
[2/18/2012 9:35:17 PM] Maelys: Maelys looks at Sebastian. “Better warn the others not to bother trying to resurrect the president’s children… Do you think the goal is to procure leverage against Ilko or to foster bad will between Ilko and the Tsar?”
[2/18/2012 9:36:27 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian thinks for a moment and chews his lip. “I don’t know. Maybe both. I’ve heard the president of Ilko is very protective of his children, it would be an extremly powerful bargaining chip.”
[2/18/2012 9:37:16 PM] Maelys: Maelys feels guilty for not being able to save the president’s kids.
[2/18/2012 9:37:31 PM] Maelys: Maelys goes to the Tsar and reports on what she’s learned.
[2/18/2012 9:37:44 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay feels guilty for being unable to save the horses.
[2/18/2012 9:41:03 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: The Tsar sighs and thinks for a moment. “I know I have many enemies, but if somebody is going to use Vance against me… (Vance is the president of Ilko’s name), and could pay the Sanguine Order for such a large assassination, one with a high risk of losing its operatives… The path is clear. You four must go to Haimen as soon as possible, perhaps tomorrow, and find out who paid for this attack.”
[2/18/2012 9:42:09 PM] Sebastian: “If Mikael feels like his wife is safe in the city, which he should, he should come too. And you can bring that boy who’s so fond of Sebastian, if you’d like. I’ll make the arrangements tonight…”
[2/18/2012 9:42:40 PM] Sebastian: Chrysal looks at her new husband, “But tonight’s our wedding night, Dmitiri…”
[2/18/2012 9:43:20 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks the Tsar, “Are there any more questions that you would like me to ask the other corpses?”
[2/18/2012 9:44:29 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: “I want to know how they know who Alleluia is. Very few people know that secret, as she’s very careful about it.”
[2/18/2012 9:45:39 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: “If they knew that soul-trapping magic would be worthless against her, then they must know.”
We started to discuss how good Maelys/Beatrice is at figuring things out and how everyone just flops over my really obvious hints for a while. Also, Ehimay has a “four track mind”. Oppo, Sebastian/Daddy, Animals, Killing Everyone.
[2/18/2012 10:00:06 PM] Maelys: So okay, I guess I will interrogate cloud-lady
[2/18/2012 10:00:19 PM] Maelys: Maelys goes over to the cloud-lady’s corpse and casts Speak to Dead
[2/18/2012 10:00:37 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “What do you know about Alleuia?”
[2/18/2012 10:01:43 PM] Sebastian: 1. “She is the avatar of Orren, grandfather of our beloved Terrimev. While our contractor asked us to kill her, she said we were not to waste our soul-trapping spells on her, as that would not work.))
Another funny bit:
[2/18/2012 10:02:45 PM] Ehimay: And VonWolff is his daddy !
[2/18/2012 10:02:55 PM] Sebastian: wait what
[2/18/2012 10:03:02 PM] Sebastian: have you ever even talked to von Wolff?
[2/18/2012 10:03:08 PM] Maelys: ((lolololol))
[2/18/2012 10:03:25 PM] Sebastian: The two of them have been dating for like a month and already there is an adorable child who thinks he is their babbu
[2/18/2012 10:04:10 PM] Sebastian: ((Also, we are pretty sure that Ehimay is like 12, even though he was supposed to be like 16))
[2/18/2012 10:04:25 PM] Maelys: ((lol again))
[2/18/2012 10:05:52 PM] Sebastian: ((Also, Ehimay’s apparence. Olive skin, black hair, grey eyes. Sebastian: Olive skin, black hair, weirdo eyes. vW: peach/light tan, black hair, grey eyes.)
[2/18/2012 10:06:08 PM] Sebastian: ((However, Ehimay is not literally their future child as he is not a tiefling))
[2/18/2012 10:06:19 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “What other information and orders did the contractor give?”
[2/18/2012 10:08:42 PM] Sebastian: 2. That this mission was of the upmost importance. The fate of the world depended on it. I think she may have been being a bit melodramatic on that. Also, Pippin’s sister was to be captured, not killed if possible. The others with her could be killed, as Lady Luxe is already dead, and the other one is of little value.” (She also gives all the information the others gave, as that’s how the spell works)
[2/18/2012 10:09:57 PM] Sebastian: ((Luxe was a legitimate noble: Her full name is Lady Luxe de Vigo, making Marie Lady Marie de Vigo. ))
[2/18/2012 10:12:54 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “What details do you know about the contractor?”
[2/18/2012 10:15:21 PM] Sebastian: Okay, 3. “Not much, other then she is a woman. She always sent a proxy, never coming herself. We were paid before this job, as we always are, and she paid very well, in gold bars” (woman as in the gender, not as in female human)
[2/18/2012 10:16:08 PM] Sebastian: ((It may seem wierd to pay them before the job, as hypothetically they could run away, but the guild hunts down those who run away with extreme prejudice, + gold is not much use if you are dead))
[2/18/2012 10:18:46 PM] Sebastian: 4. “He was a couatl. I know this only by accident, as I saw him leave once.”
[2/18/2012 10:19:42 PM] Sebastian: ((Couatl are mostly found in the countires of Shimen, where they make up about 20% of the population, mostly the upper-class))
[2/18/2012 10:21:53 PM] Sebastian: (While the names of these countries are based on traditional Chinese place names, they are also slightly altered to A. Sound Better and B. because this is fantasy world and not real China. Hurray? ) (If translated, they come out something like real Chinese names, but there are some innacuracies due to reasons above.)
Shimen is the name for the four countries directly to the south of Uldok that take up the majority of the middle of the continent. Long ago, this was one country, ruled by a single ruler, Emperor Matlal the wise. He had five children, each of whom he adored. However, his most beloved child was killed, and in grief he left the country, and some say the world forever, leaving Shimen to his remaining four children. It’s rumored that the fifth child was killed by the other four in order to gain power.
The Emperor, his children, and most of the upper class of Shimen are Coutals, rainbow feathered serpents. Coutals are known as the cousins of the dragons, and their goddess is also Settelli, who they refer to as Queen of the Coutals. Generally they depict her as one, which isn’t too far from rainbow dragon. The Coutals are known for being generally wise, and possessing magic. While they are certainly flimsier than dragons, their magic makes up for it. Many coutals also worship Elolei, as she is the goddess of snakes.
Next, we shall go into each country in detail. Please refer to this map. http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/winter-break-dnd/maps/26648
Zhemen, the blue one, is a very swampy, almost inhospitable kingdom. There are, however, some points of civilization in it. While King Atl technically rules it, he is the weakest willed of his siblings and it is mostly run by the bandit clans, who will occasionally conduct raids into the richer Uldok. Traveling there is a pain.
The yellow one, Anmen is a very religious country, ruled by an intense bureaucracy with the ruler, Chancellor Centehua at the top. They are a very religious folk, and the Chancellor is devoted to Settelli, and also, strangely enough, Aaia, even though the two hate each other in real life. It is a peaceful country, as Centehua and her bureaucrats rule with an iron fist. Out of all the countries, it is possibly the most xenophobic, and the population is almost all humans and Coutals. However, it is the best to travel through, as there are only a few bandits on the northern border. Centehua is the one that gets along with the Tsar the least.
The pink one, Haimen, is your destination. Perhaps the most urban of all the countries, it is lightly ruled by Rajah Zolin. Although he used to style himself a king, Zolin has taken much from the country below him, Navina, and enjoys their culture more than the former culture of his country. It’s rumored that a merger is in the works, as Zolin has been courting Navina’s princess for the last hundred years, and it finally looks like they will be wed. Haimen is a country of the philospophy that people should be able to defend themselves, and certain guilds are allowed to commit crimes as long as they pay taxes to the government. Apparently one of them is the Sanguine Order.
The last one, the green one, is Laomen. It is ruled by the oldest of the five children, Emperor Azill, and he is considering leaving the country himself and letting his daughter rule. He is said to have some of the wisdom of his father, as well as being the most powerful of the four in magic. His daughter does most of the day-to-day running of the coutry, leaving Azill alone as he contemplates the future, the problems facing his country, and his childhood.
[2/18/2012 10:28:10 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “Would any of the others who came on this raid know more about the proxy, or the one who commissioned the attack?”
[2/18/2012 10:29:39 PM] Sebastian: 5. “Breist might, as he is notorious for eavesdropping on things he shouldn’t, but he is gone with the girl, I assume. He was to take her to headquarters.”
[2/18/2012 10:31:28 PM] Maelys: Maelys looks for Pippin’s sister
[2/18/2012 10:42:52 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay holds a bunny, petting it gently.
[2/18/2012 10:43:07 PM] Maelys: Maelys finds Alleiua and requests her help in the search for the assorted females which might be referred to as “the girl”
[2/18/2012 10:43:22 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian looks at Ehimay. “Come with us, we may encounter resistance”
[2/18/2012 10:44:40 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay squeaks and looks up to him. “Encounter resistance.. I’m a little… Do you think I’ll be of any help?”
[2/18/2012 10:45:36 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian “Of course. If we find him, you can shoot him!”
[2/18/2012 10:45:54 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian “… the man who took the girl, I mean.”
[2/18/2012 10:46:11 PM] Maelys: Maelys does not really like the idea of involving children, but since he will be useful she does not object
[2/18/2012 10:46:31 PM] Maelys: (Question: Is Ehimay officially twelve now, or is he still fifteen and just acts twelve?))
[2/18/2012 10:47:04 PM] Ehimay: He’s 12 now.
[2/18/2012 10:47:12 PM] Maelys: ((D’awww.))
[2/18/2012 10:50:08 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: You four go out, Gertrude staying behind to do Gertrude things or something, and after an hour you follow the footsteps and splatters of blood to a city guard post. However, the guardsmen lay dead, along with the corpses of Marie, Allisa, Pippin’s older brother, and a few druids. It looks like the druids and older brother died defending the two girls. Camellia is nowhere to be found, but you see a teleportation circle drawn on the floor in blood.
[2/18/2012 10:50:53 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “Alleuia, how many resurrection spells do you have left?”
[2/18/2012 10:51:47 PM] Sebastian: Alleuia: “…three.” There are about eight dead people.
[2/18/2012 10:52:07 PM] Sebastian: Sebastian opens a closet to reveal an old man hiding in there.
[2/18/2012 10:52:18 PM] Sebastian: ((He knew he was in there with secret GM sense))
[2/18/2012 10:52:43 PM] Ehimay: Ehimay stands back, pointing at the old man with his gun.
[2/18/2012 10:53:49 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: “Don’t shoot!” yells the old man, “The tree-huggers told me to hide in this closet! I told them I could take them, and then they locked me in! Or I guess they didn’t lock me in, they just told me I was locked in.”
[2/18/2012 10:54:48 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: “Are those poor girls dead? I dunno why they didn’t wantemm in the closet with me! Maybe they thought they wanted all three of them.”
[2/18/2012 10:56:00 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “Who are the tree-huggers?”
[2/18/2012 10:57:00 PM] Maelys: Maelys says to Alleuia, "For now, can you revive the two girls and Pippin’s brother? We can send others to resurrect the rest later.”
[2/18/2012 10:57:27 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: “The druids, stupid! Is it wrong to callem tree huggers now?”
[2/18/2012 10:57:35 PM] Sebastian: ((Angry old people))
[2/18/2012 10:58:54 PM] Maelys: Maelys says to the old man, “Oh, I see. Did you hear anyone say anything unusual while you were in the closet?”
[2/18/2012 10:59:04 PM] Sebastian: Alleuia pauses for a moment. “You do realize that he bit them? And if he did, he’s probably a vampire?”
[2/18/2012 10:59:55 PM] Sebastian: “Don’t ask me what he said to them…. I still want to forget it.”
[2/18/2012 11:00:31 PM] Maelys: ((Can vampires survive on the blood of animals, or do they need people blood?))
[2/18/2012 11:01:06 PM] Sebastian: ((Animal Blood.))
[2/18/2012 11:01:50 PM] Maelys: Maelys says to the old man, “Sir, we need to rescue the girl who they took with them. Anything you heard might be of great help. Could you please tell us? I know it’s hard, but it’s very important.”
[2/18/2012 11:04:01 PM] Maelys: Maelys says to Alleuia, “If this court can accomodate undead like Helorie, surely the Tsar can provide animal blood from the royal slaughterhouse for the family members of his close friends. I think it is up to them to decide whether or not they want to live as vampires, wouldn’t you say?”
[2/18/2012 11:04:39 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: “He spoke in the Dark Tongue… I haven’t heard that since Dmitri was a boy. What most people don’t know is that Hell has two languages. Infernal is their common language, but the Dark Tongue is a language of magic.”
This man is the Tsar’s adoptive father, in a fact that is never explained.
[2/18/2012 11:05:27 PM] Sebastian: Alleuia slits her eyes. “Yes, the Tsar does accomadate undead, filthy creatures as they are. But he will send somebody else to do this if I won’t.”
[2/18/2012 11:06:09 PM] Sebastian: ((Old man is still rambling))
[2/18/2012 11:06:54 PM] Maelys: Maelys says to Alleuia, “Of course it is your choice to resurrect them or not as you wish. I simply did not feel that these children deserved condemnation simply because they were attacked by a vampire.”
[2/18/2012 11:07:08 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: “The Dark Tongue, I tell you! Now I can’t understand that foul language, but it soulds vile to its very core.”
[2/18/2012 11:08:02 PM] Sebastian: Alleuia sighs, “I’ll do what you ask, but keep in mind the negative energy that sustains these creatures corrupts them to their very core. I hope you can find someone that will keep them in check.”
[2/18/2012 11:08:15 PM] Sebastian: She sighs and ressurects them.
[2/18/2012 11:08:07 PM] Maelys: ((What would I know about the Dark Tongue?))
[2/18/2012 11:09:10 PM] Sebastian: ((That it’s evil, and few people know it. It was created by Aaia once to be the languages of the gods, but Alexil twisted it after he became king of the devils. Ever since the gods use Celestial to speak instead.”
[2/18/2012 11:10:15 PM] Maelys: ((Would the old man repeating what was said in the Dark Tongue be harmful in any way?))
[2/18/2012 11:11:16 PM] Sebastian: ((…yes, but at the same time, I don’t know how much he’ll be able to repeat it. Although he could recognize it as the Dark Tongue due to his time spent with Dmitri when Dmitri was a chlid, it would be like repeating words in any other foreign language))
[2/18/2012 11:12:40 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: You are now in a room with three very confused vampires, a disgusted looking Allauia, a 12 year old boy, an old man and a Sebastian.
[2/18/2012 11:13:08 PM] Maelys: Maelys says to the vampires, “Hello. How are you feeling? Do you remember what happened?”
[2/18/2012 11:13:49 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Marie blinks her eyes. “I… I was with my sister, Luxe. She was hugging me and I was crying because I hadn’t seen her in so long but then she went away…”
[2/18/2012 11:15:30 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Allisa nods her head, “I was with my parents! Or at least I think they were my parents, since they died when I was a baby but they looked like me and had wings like me and…”
[2/18/2012 11:17:42 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: Big Mac (I can call him that because Mel ins’t here) isn’t speaking as usual but is crying a little.
[2/18/2012 11:17:57 PM] Sebastian: Not like booo hooo tears but like silent tears.
[2/18/2012 11:18:14 PM] Maelys: Maelys asks the vampires, “Do you remember what happened before that? Do you remember the attack?”
[2/18/2012 11:20:50 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: “We went here to be safe from the assassins, but one of them came here, in a cloud of black smoke. He attacked everyone, and grabbed Camellia.
[2/18/2012 11:21:14 PM] Sebastian: “I… died before I could see if he took her or not.”
Summary Time with Jacky!!!
[2/18/2012 11:21:46 PM] Maelys: Okay so we go to the wedding
[2/18/2012 11:21:50 PM] Maelys: And we’re all chilling
[2/18/2012 11:21:55 PM] Maelys: But then, suddenly terrorists
[2/18/2012 11:22:00 PM] Maelys: EXPLOSIONS EVERYWHERE
[2/18/2012 11:22:57 PM] Maelys: And Monroe dies
[2/18/2012 11:23:12 PM] Maelys: And I’m like, “bam” and I bring him back to life with magick powers
[2/18/2012 11:23:53 PM] Sebastian: BAM
[2/18/2012 11:24:12 PM] Maelys: And then I grab Monroe, the president of the country Ilko or whatever, plus the president’s two wives, and fly them away
[2/18/2012 11:24:24 PM] Maelys: Then I come back, and everyone’s fighting a bunch of people
[2/18/2012 11:24:38 PM] Maelys: Then I get killed
[2/18/2012 11:24:54 PM] Maelys: But Alleuia brings me back
[2/18/2012 11:26:54 PM] Maelys: Anyways, then we defeat everyone, but a bunch of kids and ponies and druids and whatnot are dead
[2/18/2012 11:27:22 PM] Maelys: I use Speak with Dead on several of the corpses and find out that they were sent by an assassins guild in a country run by a fancy snake
[2/18/2012 11:27:44 PM] Sebastian: mel joined the party. Her character, Ehimay is an adorable 12 year old with a four track mind: Murder, Oppo (future Husband), Sebastian (adoptive daddy, much to his suprise), and Animals
[2/18/2012 11:28:01 PM] Sebastian: He’s just sort of latched onto Sebastian.
[2/18/2012 11:28:57 PM] Maelys: So the Tsar is like, “tomorrow you will go to fancy snake land and find the evil dudes who tries to kill us all lol”
[2/18/2012 11:29:37 PM] Sebastian: Everyone else went to the Tsar’s wedding, and you stayed at home because Wifey super pregnant or something. The wedding was going as planned, until somebody attmempted to assasinate Chrysal, the bride. She and the wedding party beat that person into submission.
[2/18/2012 11:29:39 PM] Maelys: Then we were like, “Oh, Alleuia is the avatar of Orred and also all Pippin’s brother and sister, Luxe’s sister and the sisters’ friend are all missing”
[2/18/2012 11:33:48 PM] Sebastian: So while Chrysal was being attacked, the wedding structures were attacked as well, by explosives. Many people died in the explosion, including Monroe (but he was ressurected by Maelys), and still more were killed by four assasins who picked off the survivors. One killed the children of the president of Ilko, and another one trapped their souls, effectively kidnapping them. A third killed most of the people attending sitting on the right by clouds, and the fourth attempted to kidnap Pippin (one of the Important Witches and a Bridesmaid) ‘s sister, Camellia. While Camellia was taken with her friends and a group of druids out of the garden where the wedding took place, the group was intercepted and Camellia was effectively kidnapped.
[2/18/2012 11:34:58 PM] Sebastian: After the fight, Maelys interogated the corpses. They were assasins of the Sauguine Order, and were paid by an unknown person to attempt to kill the Tsar, kill the President of Ilko’s children, and to kidnap Camellia. After that, they were to cause as much chaos as possible.
[2/18/2012 11:35:29 PM] Sebastian: The Sanguine order is an assasin’s guild. Ilko is the country in the south of the continent.
I summarize the entire campaign in the next sentence.
[2/18/2012 11:35:38 PM] Sebastian: This is all confusing for everyone except for Beatrice.
[2/18/2012 11:35:44 PM] Snark: WAIT WHAT IS AN ASSASIN’S GUILD
[2/18/2012 11:35:52 PM] Sebastian: People who kill people for money.
[2/18/2012 11:35:59 PM] Snark: I KNOW BUT LIKE WHERE DID THEY COME FROM
[2/18/2012 11:36:09 PM] Sebastian: They are located in one of the lower countries.
[2/18/2012 11:36:39 PM] Sebastian: Haimen is the country they are from, and there crime is legal with the proper paperwork.
[2/18/2012 11:36:44 PM] Sebastian: Which I guess makes it not crime.
[2/18/2012 11:37:29 PM] Sebastian: It seems so far that whoever paid for these assasins wanted to A. Make the Tsar look Bad B. Manipulate the President of Ilko and possibly Pippin C. Probably due to reasons with the God-Witch War,
[2/18/2012 11:38:02 PM] Sebastian: They also discovered that the person who paid for the assasins is from Shimen.
[2/18/2012 11:38:12 PM] Snark: Shimen is the crime country?
[2/18/2012 11:38:22 PM] Sebastian: Shimen is a group of four countires, and Haimen is the crime country.
[2/18/2012 11:39:13 PM] Sebastian: There are three others: Zhemen, the nastry country, Anmen, the religious country (Settelli/Aaia) and Laomen, the peaceful country.
[2/18/2012 11:40:03 PM] Sebastian: They’re all vaugely chinese, although Laomen is more vaugely tibetian, Haimen is also Indian, and Anmen is somewhat Aztec
[[2/18/2012 11:40:58 PM] Sebastian: Okay, so Allauia, who has been revealed to be the Avatar of Orren, and maelys raised the dead. Oh! Maelys is a dragon.
[2/18/2012 11:41:16 PM] Sebastian: Dragons can turn into people, remeber?
[2/18/2012 11:41:47 PM] Maelys: Yes, I have secretly been a dragon this whole time, but who cares right
[2/18/2012 11:42:07 PM] Snark: YOUR A DRAGON :O
[2/18/2012 11:43:45 PM] Sebastian: So the Tsar told Maelys and the rest of the party, along with Ehimay, that they should go to Haimen and discover who paid for the assasination. After that, they realized that Camellia was missing, and they went to find her. One of the corpses (maelys has the spell: Speak With Dead) told her that they were going to kidnap Camellia
[2/18/2012 11:45:05 PM] Sebastian: Camellia is Pippin’s little sister, and Pippin is one of the witches that is in the war against Aaia, with the help of the Tsar and Melkar and Setttelli.
[2/18/2012 11:46:58 PM] Sebastian: They found the bodies of Camellia’s friends, Camellia and Pippin’s older brother, and some druids who tried to help them escape the wedding in a local city guard post. Camellia was nowhere to be seen, though it seems her kidnapper teleported back to the assasin headquarters.
[2/18/2012 11:48:00 PM] Sebastian: An old man, The Tsar’s adoptive father was hiding in the closet, and he told them that the kidnapper used ancient/powerful devil words when speaking. He knew this because of taking care of the Tsar when he was a baby.
[2/18/2012 11:48:52 PM] Sebastian: Since the kidnapper was a vampire, Camilla’s friends, older brother and protective druid people would be brought back as vampires. However, Maelys decided that they should be resurrected and fed the blood of animals, as she trusts them despite their undead nature.
[2/18/2012 11:49:37 PM] Sebastian: Alleuia, who is prejudiced against the undead, was upset about Maelys’s decision, but went along with it as she and Maelys are bffjills
[2/18/2012 11:51:02 PM] Sebastian: And that’s it! Ehimay comes and he thinks Sebastian’s his daddy for reasons unknown to him. He also supposedly thinks von Wolff is his other daddy, even though A. He has never legitimately been introduced to the man and B. Sebbie and VW have only been dating for like a month, but that’s Ehimay.
[2/18/2012 11:57:03 PM] Sebastian: We’ve been in the city for four months. They started dating about a month ago. Although Sebastian has tried to find other people to date, due to his worries about dating another former opium addict, he couldn’t’ deny his attraction/chemistry with von Wolff, and finally agreed to start dating him.
[2/18/2012 11:57:50 PM] Sebastian: It was either that or constantly flirting with everyone Sebastian.
[2/18/2012 11:58:16 PM] Sebastian: I figured he’d get some character development with one of his first long-term relationships rather than random flings.
[12:00:03 AM] Sebastian: Okay basically the summary of last session was that the Tsar is making Monroe (von Wolff’s roomate/bestfriend/Moirail) basically be Scula’s servant, despite the fact that Monroe is an acomplished wizard. However, Scula, being a new goddess, cannot manage her avatar form properly, and Monroe is beginning to lose his magic. She’s sort of like magic plutonium.
[12:01:14 AM] Sebastian: Monroe, upset about his treatment, is compliling a report to the Tsar, so he will ask Scula to go back to the god realm. However, the party has decided to intervene and tonight they will ask Scula to return to the god realm, with the help of Alleuia.
[12:02:19 AM] Sebastian: Also Jack, the thing you should be worried about is that Scula, who sucks the life and magic out of things she’s arround, is now good friends with your very pregnant wife.
Maëlys asks the vampires, “Do you remember what happened before that? Do you remember the attack?”
[12:44:40 AM] Sebastian: [2/18/2012 11:20:50 PM] Sebastian: [GM]: “We went here to be safe from the assasins, but one of them came here, in a cloud of black smoke. He attacked everyone, and grabbed Camellia.
[12:45:03 AM] Sebastian: [GM] “And then… I guess I died….”
[12:46:27 AM] Maelys: Maelys asks them, “Do you remember him saying anything?”
[12:47:38 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: “He spoke in a wierd language, one I couldn’t understand. It… made me feel horrible when he said it, even though I didn’t know hat he was saying”
[12:48:02 AM] Maelys: /me, “Do any of you remember what he said well enough to try and repeat it?”
[12:49:14 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: Marie pauses for a moment, then tries to repeat it. “I think it sounded like this…”
[12:51:21 AM] Sebastian: Okay, this is what you hear. “Terrimev, rip a hole in space for your devoted follower. Alexil, protect me from the things I will encounter there. Couatlkin… I know you will hear this.” What she repeats next requires a will save
[12:51:51 AM] Maelys: ((Is Alexil a god/someone I know of))
[12:52:09 AM] Sebastian: ((King of the Devils.))
[12:52:55 AM] Sebastian: d20+ will
[12:53:25 AM] Maelys: 17
[12:54:29 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: Eventually, you come to. You are sitting on the floor of someone’s house, covered in jelly. Alleuia is there. Presumably she has cast the “Cure Insanity” spell.
[12:54:39 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: It is grape jelly.
[12:55:32 AM] Maelys: …
[12:55:35 AM] Maelys: …
[12:55:51 AM] Sebastian: That’s the Dark Speech for you.
[12:56:14 AM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “…W-what happened? How long have I been, er… out?”
[12:56:31 AM] Sebastian: [Alleuia]: “I didn’t think a chlid of her age could manage to use the dark speech so well, though I suppose it’s because of her new undead nature.”
[12:57:07 AM] Sebastian: ((Also she is a level 1 bard))
[12:59:02 AM] Maelys: Maelys blinked, dazed. “Where /are/ we?” She looks around. “Where is everyone else?”
[12:59:05 AM] Maelys: *blinks
[1:00:14 AM] Sebastian: [Alleuia]: “Well, Sebastian is currently in a bit of trouble with the city guard, since he is the one who picked the locks on all the houses. And Ehimay is staying with the others.”
[1:00:59 AM] Sebastian: ((Sebastian: The devoted minion. “Maelys I have no idea why you’re making me do this but sure))
[1:02:14 AM] Maelys: Maelys swallows. “Alleuia? Could you do me a favor and just… start from our discussion with the vampires and go from there? What, exactly, happened?”
[1:05:24 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: “Well, after Lady Luxe’s sister spoke the Dark Speech, you entered some sort of a trance. You started running through the streets, talking about how you needed it. Sebastian ran after you. You kept randomly telling him to open houses for you, which he would, then you would rummage through their kitchens and then leave. Eventually I was able to catch up to you, despite my bad leg, and cast Heal on you, which removed the effect.”
[1:05:51 AM] Maelys: Maelys asks, “I never said what exactly it was that I needed?”
[1:07:32 AM] Maelys: Maelys rubs at a little of the jelly on her arms, trying to get it off, but only succeeds in smearing it around.
[1:07:52 AM] Maelys: Maelys stands up, a little shakily.
[1:07:53 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: “Looks like it was grape Jelly?” suggests Alleuia. “The dark speech can be… odd.”
[1:12:39 AM] Maelys: Maelys grins slightly. “Yes, I see. Where are the vampires now? Do you know if someone’s explained to them yet what they are?”
[1:14:09 AM] Sebastian: Alleuia thinks for a second. “I think the little boy did.”
[1:15:00 AM] Maelys: Maelys sighs. “I see. I cannot help but feel sorry for them. I do not know what I would do, faced with their choice.”
[1:19:43 AM] Sebastian: Alleuia: “It seems they were happy with their loved departed ones… but now they are back in this world.”
[1:21:34 AM] Maelys: Maelys replies, “Still, we resurrect others who die before their time, though they may also be happy in the other world. The difference here is their unfortunately irreversible condition… but it is not a choice for us to make, I don’t think.”
[1:22:46 AM] Sebastian: Alleuia thinks for a moment. “Well, hopefully they will not turn to evil, as so many of their kind do. Maelys, I must be honest with you: If they do, I will not hesitate to kill them.”
[1:23:55 AM] Sebastian: “Orred commands the undead to be slain, and although I will make an exception in this case, I will not be able to continue to make this exception in that case.”
[1:25:32 AM] Maelys: Maelys sighs and nods. “No, you are perfectly correct. Ill circumstances do not excuse a descent to evil, although they may explain it. Of course we cannot allow them to wreak evil.”
[1:28:38 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: Your lovely conversation is interupted by the arrival of the City Guard. “Is this your thief?” one of them asks, holding Sebastian by the wrist as he attempts to squirm away.
[1:32:29 AM] Maelys: Maelys panics, and wishes sincerely that she wasn’t covered in jelly. “Yes, guardsman, this is my friend Sebastian. I’m sorry, we were investigating the incident at the Tsar’s wedding and I fell under a compulsion due to a message that one of the criminals left behind, really everything’s my fault.”
[1:33:21 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: “You were at the wedding? Were they really explosions and vampires and a dragon?”
[1:34:59 AM] Maelys: Maelys coughs, a little embarrassed at the mention of the dragon. “Yes, there were a good many explosions, at least one dragon, and it was the vampire’s message that sent me into my, er, rampage.”
[1:35:38 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: Another guard sighs and goes to the front. “Junior Guardsman, now is not the time for such questions. So, ma’am, is this vampire still in the city?”
[1:41:16 AM] Maelys: Maelys shakes her head. “No, he fled.” She decides not to mention the other three vampires he created before leaving, as that doesn’t seem like something that should be made common knowledge just yet.
[1:42:04 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: “So why was your thief friend opening the houses again? Because you told him to?”
[1:45:14 AM] Maelys: Maelys replies, “Yes. It took a bit for it to become apparent that I was under a compulsion rather than actually looking for something of my own volition. It was the only one affected because I specialize in languages, and the message was left in a particularly obscure and unpleasant one.”
[1:46:27 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: “Well, Ma’am, if that’s the case…. I suppose we can let you go this time. Just please, don’t break into people’s houses like that again, especially not on a day like today. We were worried it was related to the incident at the wedding, and while it is, in a different way.”
[1:49:41 AM] Maelys: Maelys smiles gratefully. “Thank you, Guardsman.” She looks at Sebastian, trying to subtly convention that they should get out of there fast. “We should probably get back to the scene now, we want to find out as much as we can before we set out tomorrow to track down the ones who ordered the attack.”
[1:50:32 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: Sebastian understands, and starts to leave. Alleuia probably leaves with you.
[1:51:00 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: Nothing eventful happens going back there.
[1:54:06 AM] Maelys: Maelys gets back to the wedding site with Sebbie and Alli and proceeds to track down the vampires and the rest of the party
[1:55:52 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: Pippin is sitting on the side of the stage, looking very upset that her brother is now a vampire and her sister kidnapped. Ehimay took them back there, after giving them umbrellas. DONT ASK HOW HE GOT UMBRELLAS. Chrysal and Iris are attempting to cheer Pippin up/comfort her, but Scula doesn’t seem that interested.
[1:56:31 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: “All i’m saying, Pippin, is that being a vampire is probably really cool. I mean, maybe not as cool as being a god, which is really great, but I mean, um, yes.”
[1:57:59 AM] Sebastian: Marie and the other one look on the verge of crying. “B-but I’m never going to grow up. I’m going to be a teenager forever and I’m going to have to drink blood and I’ll maybe never be able to go on adventures or anything and I’ll never get to see Luxe ever again!” whines Marie.
[2:09:32 AM] Maelys: Maelys comes up to the group. “Don’t be silly Marie, really no one lives forever, not even vampires or the world would be overrun with them. You’ll see Luxe again, I promise. I’m very sorry for what’s happened, it was about the worst that could happen, but I need you guys to pull yourselves together and be brave about it for a little while, because right now this country- this universe- is in a crisis.”
[2:10:18 AM] Maelys: Maelys adds, “Besides, growing up isn’t just about your physical appearance, it’s about your mind and heart. If your body ages but your inner self stays the same, you’re no adult, and likewise, you can be an adult in the body of a teenager.”
[2:12:19 AM] Maelys: 37
[2:12:36 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: They start crying on you, but in a good way
Maelys’s character is summarized in the next sentence.
[2:12:46 AM] Sebastian: ((You must accept that Maelys is a cry pillow))
[2:13:17 AM] Maelys: ((Profession: Cry Pillow))
[2:13:48 AM] Maelys: Maelys pats their shoulders in a way that would be awkward except that she is a PROFESSIONAL CRY PILLOW
[2:13:56 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: Eventually they calm down soon enough, and Scula sighs. “Thank goodness everyone’s done crying!”
[2:14:05 AM] Sebastian: “It was starting to get really annoying!”
[2:14:07 AM] Maelys: Maelys gives Scula the evil eye
[2:14:34 AM] Maelys: Maelys decides that talking to her about her issues isn’t going to do any good at all, and that they need to go to the Tsar.
[2:22:59 AM] Sebastian: ((NOW CHAT WITH YOH HOMIES
[2:24:24 AM] Sebastian: (ASK THEM QUARSTIONS)
[2:24:44 AM] Sebastian: ((Also.. technically you can ask Scula questions, imagine the loltasticness if you asked her about herself))
[2:29:23 AM] Maelys: ((Okay so I get eleven questions. Hmmmmm…))
[2:29:42 AM] Maelys: Question 1: Is it wise to talk to the Tsar about the difficulties with Scula?
[2:29:58 AM] Sebastian: Yes.
[2:30:22 AM] Maelys: Question 2: Would it be wise to include Chrysal in this discussion?
[2:30:58 AM] Sebastian: NO.
[2:34:47 AM] Maelys: Question 3: Just asking, would it be wise to include Scula in the discussion? (lol)
[2:35:40 AM] Sebastian: NO.
[2:37:33 AM] Maelys: Question 4: Would it be wise to include anyone besides those already involved? (Aka me, the Tsar, party members, Monroe, Alleuia.)
[2:38:23 AM] Sebastian: ((When writting the question, if you wrote the thing in parentesis, the answer is: IT WOULD NOT BE WISE TO INCLUDE MONROE IN THE INITIAL DISCUSSION))
[2:38:32 AM] Sebastian: ((Otherwise the answer is just NO.))
[2:38:59 AM] Sebastian: ((I know it should be at the most five words, but at the same time I couldn’t think of something that was 5 words that expressed that
[2:39:36 AM] Maelys: DON’T FIRST DISCUSS WITH MONROE
[2:39:49 AM] Sebastian: That is five words.
[2:39:52 AM] Sebastian: Okay, q5
[2:40:36 AM] Maelys: Question 5: Is Scula being adversely affected by a mortal wizard?
[2:41:32 AM] Sebastian: YES
Mel was done listening to Cry play video games, so she decided to appear and say FANK!
[2:45:50 AM] Ehimay: FAAAAAANK
[2:46:11 AM] Sebastian: Ehimay randomly appears and yells “Fank!”
[2:46:15 AM] Maelys: Just for kicks, 6. goes to Setelli: Should Chrysal be included in our discussion?
[2:46:49 AM] Sebastian: Yes.
[2:47:43 AM] Maelys: 7. (back to Melkar Is Camelia in Hai(whatever country)?
[2:48:20 AM] Sebastian: Yes, 4 more.
[2:50:28 AM] Maelys: 8. Is the wizard affecting Scula affiliated with the Sanguine Guild?
[2:50:38 AM] Sebastian: No.
[2:51:01 AM] Maelys: 9. Is he affiliated with the one who ordered the attack?
[2:51:04 AM] Sebastian: No.
[2:51:32 AM] Maelys: 10. Is the one who ordered the attack located in Hai(whatever country)?
[2:51:58 AM] Sebastian: No.
[2:52:03 AM] Sebastian: (Haimen)
[2:53:52 AM] Sebastian: Okay, last question!
[2:53:54 AM] Sebastian: Make it count!
[2:54:16 AM] Maelys: 11. Is the one who ordered the attack working for someone else, or acting of their own volition?
[2:55:00 AM] Sebastian: Not working, but following.
[2:55:55 AM] Maelys: Okay, out of questions
[2:56:03 AM] Sebastian: Okay.
[2:56:05 AM] Sebastian: WHAT YOU DO NOW
[2:56:14 AM] Maelys: Working theory: It all goes back to Aaia
[2:56:24 AM] Sebastian: There’s about an hour before the reception starts and the Tsar attempts to pretend like nothing just happened
[2:57:27 AM] Maelys: Maelys asks Alleuia and Sebbie, “Do you think we should include Chrysal when we talk to the Tsar about Scula? Melkar says we shouldn’t, but Setelli says we should.”
[2:58:45 AM] Sebastian: Sebastian. “I know Scula is her dear friend and all, but that might also work against us. Chrysal’s so polite and sweet, she might keep trying to apologize for her friend or attempt to explain her friend’s actions to the Tsar.”
[3:00:39 AM] Maelys: Maelys nods thoughtfully. “What do you think, Alleuia?”
[3:01:36 AM] Sebastian: Alleuia agrees with Sebastian for once. “Yes, Chrysal will try to make excuses on her friend’s behalf.”
[3:05:57 AM] Maelys: Maelys responds, “All right, I agree. We should just talk to the Tsar first, as her husband he will probably know when and how best to inform his wife of the issue.”
[3:07:11 AM] Maelys: Since all this crazy junk already happened, let’s just get it all over with ass fast as possible
[3:07:25 AM] Maelys: So he can actually sit and be married for like three minutes afterwards.
[3:07:30 AM] Sebastian: Alright. You find him in his throne room, eyes glowing with blue energy as he looks up at that giant orb thing. “Yes?”
[3:07:52 AM] Maelys: Maelys carefully explains the situation, being ULTRA DIPLOMATIC AND JUNK
[3:08:18 AM] Sebastian: No, I’d like to to explain it out longhand because he kind of will have responses in certain bits.
[3:08:26 AM] Sebastian: Like, important ones.
[3:08:39 AM] Melocracy: what the fuckadoo?
[3:08:46 AM] Sebastian: Mel please
Another one-sentence summary of the campaign.
[3:08:56 AM] Sebastian: We are talking to wizards now go away
[3:09:29 AM] Maelys: Maelys explains to the Tsar that we believe that Scula’s avatar has been made incorrectly and/or roughly, and is therefore malfunctioning.
[3:09:56 AM] Sebastian: “Yes, I know. You’re correct in thinking that.”
[3:14:32 AM] Maelys: Maelys asks the Tsar how much he knows about Monroe’s current situation.
[3:15:22 AM] Sebastian: “I know that Monroe thinks he will die- so melodramatic, and completely wrong. What he is really doing is experiencing… a transformation of sorts.”
[3:16:49 AM] Sebastian: “You understand that some people can only master one set of skills their entire life, yes, or at the very least they must sacrifice some of their knowledge to learn other things? And then there are people like us, who can master two things at once.”
[3:17:13 AM] Sebastian: (He’s refering to people who can only have one class at a time vs people who can have two aka gesalt like you, if it wasn’t obvious.)
[3:18:37 AM] Sebastian: “Monroe has formerly been of the first category, but due to his prolounged contact with Scula he will soon be entering the second in the next few days. If my calculations are correct, he will be able to master this new pure magic.”
[3:30:11 AM] Maelys: Maelys nods thoughtfully. “I do not have much knowledge where this is concerned, I bow to your superior judgement. However, she does pose a danger to animals and to most humans. We are concerned about her interactions with those she poses a threat to.”
[3:31:03 AM] Maelys: Maelys adds, "We have also been given reason by several gods to believe that Scula is being adversely affected by a mortal wizard, thereby causing her dramatic recent personality change.’
[3:31:36 AM] Sebastian: The Tsar starts to respond to your first comment. Then shuts his mouth. After an awkard moment, he opens it again. “….So you know about that?”
[3:37:29 AM] Maelys: Maelys replies, “Yes, Orred seemed to think it important that we know and Melkar confirmed it. Since you are also aware, have you taken any steps to remedy the situation thus far?”
[3:38:26 AM] Sebastian: He sighs again. “Well, I know Allauia has the ablity to see through lies, so there’s no getting around this one. I don’t wish to remedy this situation, because I am the cause of it.”
Maelys asks one of the best questions of all time.
[3:40:49 AM] Maelys: Would it be undiplomatic of me to haul off and punch him in the face
[3:42:27 AM] Maelys: Maelys says carefully and calmly, “How unexpected. Would you care to elaborate on that at all?”
[3:45:35 AM] Sebastian: “I’m actually surpised you didn’t suspect me, as one of the most powerful wizards on this plane. I knew that Scula, even if she knew that Monroe would be gaining such power, would be loalth to expose him to her harmful energy. And that while Monroe desires power, he wouldn’t wish to gain it in this way, choosing to gain it through his own studies and efforts. Scula, appreciating Monroe’s wizardly struggle, would side with him, as she was a very sweet woman. I needed a way to force those two together long enough for my plan to work.”
[3:48:21 AM] Sebastian: “It was much easier than simply trapping the two together physically for four months, and I know that dear Chrysal wouldn’t stand for her friend being imprisoned. Plus, my heir will have some of the most powerful pure magic users of the next generation in his- or her- country, due to Scula’s friendship with your companion Micheal’s pregnant wife. While I regret that I have made Scula so cruel, there were few other emotional directions I could swing her in.”
[3:48:46 AM] Sebastian: “While I do possess great power, even it cannot swerve the avatars of the gods like I can change the hearts of mortals.”
[3:52:03 AM] Maelys: Maelys sighs. “I suppose it makes sense, but I wish there had been an option that didn’t involve Monroe believing that he was going to die. Well, and actually dying. That could have been uglier than it ended up being. So Scula will go back to normal after a couple of days, and Christi ((What is her NAME)) and her child will be fine?”
[3:54:13 AM] Sebastian: “Yes, Christi’s children will be more than fine. They will be magic-users unlike almost any other.”
[3:56:38 AM] Maelys: Maelys notices that Sebastian is growing upset, and mutters, “Sebastian.” She isn’t going to stop him speaking, but is trying to remind him to be tactful.
[3:57:40 AM] Sebastian: Anyway, “And Monroe, while he is a talented wizard, deserved a lesson on humility, I think. Magic serves many purpouses))
[3:57:50 AM] Sebastian: UGH, *”
[3:58:27 AM] Sebastian: ((Maelys your detect BS-O-Meter goes off. You know his magic/intelligence is like the only thing Monroe is proud of himself about, and other than that he has terrifyingly low self-esteem. The Tsar’s last sentence was just him being an asshole and not understanding people as well as he thinks))
[4:02:12 AM] Maelys: Maelys speaks up, her poker face slipping ever so slightly. “Your (Imperial?) Majesty, I must say that is not true. Monroe’s apparent pride in his magic is more like accurate self-judgment, and only seems like pride when compared to his extreme humility regarding virtually everything else. I do not think that you are being fair to him in your assessment.”
[4:03:05 AM] Sebastian: “Whatever it is, it’s extremely annoying.” Sebastian looks like he’s about to say something, then stomps out of the room instead.
[4:03:36 AM] Sebastian: Alleuia just looks sort of calm. If you were looking at her closely, you would notice her eyes are glowing a slight gold.
[4:06:55 AM] Maelys: Maelys grits her teeth. “Your Majesty, I intend no disrespect, but if you think that /Monroe/ is the one in this court who needs a lesson in humility, you are gravely mistaken.” She stands and bows stiffly, poker face very still. “I will be going now. Congratulations on your marriage, I wish you a lifetime of happiness.” She leaves.
[4:10:07 AM] Maelys: Maelys catches a glimpse of Sebastian in the distance and hurries after him, hoping that Alleuia will follow.
[4:13:16 AM] Sebastian: Sebastian is attempting to find Monroe, calling out his name and the like.
[4:13:41 AM] Sebastian: He goes up the stairs, to where you know where Monroe and von Wolff’s quarters are.
[4:13:51 AM] Sebastian: Alleuia is sort of limping after you guys.
Fun Fact: DON’T HELP ALLEUIA WITH HER LIMP!
[4:16:05 AM] Sebastian: Sebastian finally gets up the stairs to the fourth floor, and starts running down the hallway.
[4:16:33 AM] Maelys: Maelys does not want to lose Sebastian, so she breaks into a run as well, calling “Wait up, Sebastian!”
[4:16:36 AM] Sebastian: He practically knocks down the door. “MONROE!!!!”
[4:17:58 AM] Sebastian: Sebastian attempts to explain everything he’s just heard, but so quickly that it all comes up into one blur. Monroe is just sort of sitting on the sofa, adjusting his clothes, and lookign midly terrified.
[4:17:58 AM] Maelys: Maelys hopes that he doesn’t say anything too hideously tactless to Monroe, because the news that his Tsar was basically tricking him into thinking he was going to die and badmouthing him should probably be broken as nicely as possible.
[4:18:02 AM] Sebastian: von Wolff is there too.
[4:18:16 AM] Maelys: Maelys yells, “Wait a second, Sebastian!”
[4:25:13 AM] Maelys: Maelys finally catches up and grabs Sebastian’s arm.
[4:25:33 AM] Maelys: Maelys says, “Gods, Sebastian, slow down, breathe! He can’t even understand you!”
[4:27:10 AM] Sebastian: “Monroe well um so the Tsar knew about how Scula was affecting you only he was righter than you and you’re not going to die but get more wizard powers and also Scula’s not really mean the Tsar wanted t omake her mean so she would be mean to you!”
[4:28:11 AM] Maelys: Maelys sighs. “Okay, stop. Let me explain, please?”
[4:28:25 AM] Maelys: Maelys waits for Sebastian’s response.
[4:28:39 AM] Sebastian: Sebastian exhales. “Alright fine”
[4:33:41 AM] Maelys: Maelys sits down on the sofa next to Monroe, already resigning herself mentally to being used as a cry pillow. “Sebastian, Alleuia and I went to discuss the problem with Scula with the Tsar just now. It turns out that the Tsar was behind her personality change. He altered her personality so that she would remain close to you and to Mikael’s wife despite the seeming dangers posed by her proximity. However, there was no real danger, as you are not dying- Instead, you are gaining new and more powerful magic, and the weakening is a part of this process. The Tsar knew that if he told you or Scula what was really going on, you would object because of your work ethic, so he decided to hide it from you. Essentially it was a horrible thing to do, which I’m not going to deny, but his overall intentions were good. Do you understand? You’re going to be okay.” She considers, but decides not to mention the Tsar’s misjudgement of Monroe’s ‘pridefulness,’ deeming that it would probably severely damage his self esteem, doing more hurt than good.
[4:36:44 AM] Sebastian: Monroe blinks, looking at his feet. “If he wanted to use me like that, why didn’t he just tell me? While I do have a work ethic, if he’d just asked me…. while I wouldn’t have have been happy about it, he is my employer, and he does have the right to tell me what to do. I.. I died, for goodness sakes. If I’d of known that I would be losing my magic, I would have made preparations, or asked him at the very least to give me some form of protective items.”
[4:37:04 AM] Sebastian: “But… you’re saying that he completely manipulated Scula? That she would never really treat a person like that?”
[4:39:06 AM] Maelys: Maelys nods. “Yes, Monroe. I cannot agree with or condone his actions, or really fathom why he made the decisions he did, but as far as I can tell that is the truth. Scula was not to blame for anything cruel she has done recently.”
[4:40:27 AM] Sebastian: “Then… I’ve been completely wrong about her. I thought she was a monster… like Jason… She almost made me feel like I deserved to be treated like that again…”
[4:42:44 AM] Maelys: Maelys pats Monroe on the shoulder. “It’s not your fault, Monroe. You couldn’t have known the truth. I suspected that she might be being manipulated due to tips from the gods, but even I never suspected that the Tsar would do such a thing.”
[4:43:59 AM] Sebastian: Monroe looks like he is about to cry, but instead clenches his fists tightly. “Did he say how long it would be until I gained my powers back?”
[4:44:37 AM] Maelys: Maelys considers this for a moment. “I believe he estimated two days, but I am not entirely sure. Sebastian?”
[4:45:45 AM] Sebastian: Sebastian nods. “That’s what he said.” He moves over to sit on the other side of Monroe, and von Wolff stands sort of awkwardly behind him.
[4:47:15 AM] Maelys: Maelys puts an arm around Monroe, since he looks like he needs a hug.
[4:47:36 AM] Sebastian: Sebastian attempts to get in on this group hug
[4:48:02 AM] Maelys: Von Wolff completes it so that Monroe is being hugged from three sides
[4:48:06 AM] Sebastian: Von Wolff does one of those really awkward “Imma gonna hug you from above”
[4:49:50 AM] Maelys: Maelys says, “It’ll be okay, Monroe. We just need to figure out a way to show the Tsar that he was wrong not to trust you. If he knew you well enough, he woud know that you’re a loyal and trustworthy person.”
[4:50:27 AM] Sebastian: Monroe actually begins to choke up at this. “But that’s all I’ve ever been to him!”
[4:53:48 AM] Maelys: Maelys replies, “Well, dear, just because he’s a Tsar, and a better leader than most, doesn’t mean that he’s not an idiot sometimes.” She adds, in a mutter, “Did you /see/ who he had for his best man at the wedding? I mean, honestly.” Raising her voice again, she continues “He obviously isn’t the best judge of character. He did say, however, that you were a very talented magic-user, so at least he recognizes your ability, even if he somehow managed to miss your personality despite the fact that everyone else who knows you can see it.”
[4:58:40 AM] Sebastian: “I… just want to show him that i am good at magic, and that he didn’t make a mistake when he had von Wolff spend the time to teach me, and that that’s I’m not worthless…..”
[4:59:35 AM] Maelys: Maelys says firmly, “Monroe, you are not worthless. The Tsar is just blind.”
[4:59:47 AM] Maelys: (I ALMOST CALLED THE TSAR THE PHAROAH, LOLOLOL)
[5:00:38 AM] Sebastian: You hear a soft knock at the door, despite the fact that it’s open.
[5:02:36 AM] Sebastian: “…Monroe? We need to talk. I mean, if you’re..” comes the soft and suddenly awkward voice of Scula.
We interrupt the cleaned version for: BARFING OUT EGGS!!!

[5:09:26 AM] Maelys: Maelys glances over at Monroe, then extricates herself from the group hug and goes to open the door.
[5:10:18 AM] Sebastian: [GM]: “Oh. Maelys. Hi. Can I talk to Monroe?”
[5:11:20 AM] Maelys: Maelys hesitates, then glances back at Monroe. Since Scula seems more like her usual self, she suspects that the Tsar has lifted the personality alteration. “He’s right in here, Scula.” She steps aside to allow Scula to enter the room.
[5:13:01 AM] Sebastian: Scula enters the room, wiggling a little to allow her back-spikes in, and Monroe stares at her, attempting to wipe away whatever tears remain. “Hi.”
[5:13:07 AM] Sebastian: There is a really awkward moment.
[5:14:06 AM] Sebastian: “I…” Scula attempts to find the words to describe what she’s thinking. “I… Monroe, I’m sorry for the way I treated you.”
“Has the Tsar told you that it wasn’t your fault?” he replies softly.
“Yes. But still…”
[5:14:18 AM] Sebastian: Another really awkward moment.
[5:18:14 AM] Sebastian: “I mean, it sort of isn’t my fault, but it sort of is.” she continues. “ And… the Tsar’s explained the situation to me. I… did Maelys tell you that I need to stay with you for the next few days, or the transformation will be incomplete?”
[5:19:58 AM] Maelys: Maelys speaks up. “Well, I told him that the Tsar’s plan was constructed to have you around him to trigger the transformation, but I hadn’t actually told him that you need to stay together for the next couple days.”
[5:21:28 AM] Sebastian: “And… Well, I’m currently in contact with my true form as well, and I’m talking to Terrimev about this. There’s something that the Tsar doesn’t even exactly know, because it happens so rarely…” She sighs. “Monroe, you know what an exarch is, right?”
[5:21:51 AM] Maelys: ((KNOWLEDGE CHECK TIME Y/N))
[5:21:53 AM] Sebastian: REAL WORDS THAT ARE USED IN WIERD DND WAYS:
[5:22:26 AM] Maelys: ((My knowledge: religion bonus is off the hook))
[5:22:41 AM] Sebastian: a God’s Exarch is the being closest to them, and this closeness gives the exarch certain powers.
[5:23:21 AM] Maelys: Maelys looks startled at the mention of the term, observing Monroe and Scula carefully.
[5:27:09 AM] Sebastian: Monroe seems even more shocked at this. “But… I mean, I don’t mean to offend, Scula, but I’ve never been a religious person.”
[5:27:49 AM] Sebastian: Scula nods. “Neither was I when I was a human! But I just wanted to, well warn you that you would get these powers, and that you would be my exarch.
[5:28:46 AM] Maelys: Maelys thinks that this is actually pretty cool but doesn’t think that now is the time to interrupt the conversation.
[5:30:44 AM] Sebastian: “There’s… well, Monroe, I don’t want you to force you to do anything that you don’t want to do, but an exarch traditionally represents their god at meetings and the like, and… Well, I’m going to try to see if Terrimev knows a way so that I can transfer my powers to an actual worshiper of mine, but then you would lose those powers, and…. arggh!”
[5:33:04 AM] Sebastian: “Monroe, while on one hand I don’t want you to force you to do anything, on the other hand….” she sighs. “I kind of need you.”
[5:36:33 AM] Maelys: Maelys speaks up at this point. “Monroe may not be your worshipper, but as someone who knows both of you, Scula, I think you two could become close friends if given the opportunity. If he’s okay with it once you two get to know each other without lies or manipulative magic, wouldn’t it be all right for him to speak on your behalf in that capacity?”
[5:37:41 AM] Sebastian: Scula, “Yes, that’s what I’m trying to say. I’m just worried… Monroe, I know how awful I’ve been to you, and can you ever forgive me? I know that the Tsar influenced my actions, but what he made me do was there, in the darkest places of my heart.”
[5:39:06 AM] Sebastian: Monroe closes his eyes for a moment, as if thinking. “Scula, I… my loyalty is first to the Tsar. If he wishes me to act as your exarch, then act as your exarch I will. But he is my employer and my savior, and if he wishes to keep me here, I don’t know what I would do. But I would probably stay with him.”
[5:39:55 AM] Sebastian: von Wolff actually says something. “Monroe, that’s bullshit. I was the one who trained you in magic, not the Tsar. And I’m sure Scula can probably pay for your living expenses or whatever at least convince the Tsar to let you stay here or… ugh.”
Von Wolff finally speaks! It’s an Orredmas miracle!
[5:40:07 AM] Sebastian: WAIT IS THIS THE FIRST TIME VON WOLFF HAS EVER TALKED IN THIS CAMPAIGN (i THINK IT IS)
[5:40:16 AM] Maelys: YES IT IS ZOMG
[5:40:19 AM] Sebastian: (SEMI-MAJOR NPC… FIRST TIME HE’S TALKED)
[5:40:23 AM] Maelys: WOWWWWW
[5:40:33 AM] Sebastian: LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL
[5:40:53 AM] Maelys: Maelys stares at Von Wolff in total shock. “You can /talk/?!? I thought you were mute!”
[5:40:58 AM] Maelys: ^not really
[5:44:16 AM] Maelys: Maelys adds, “I’m inclined to agree with von Wolff here, Monroe. The Tsar has mistreated you and thus demonstrated that he’s not worthy of your loyalty here. If you want to continue working for him, fine. If you want to work with Scula, fine. But for the gods’ sake, Monroe, don’t feel /obligated/ to the Tsar after this. It’s your choice.”
[5:45:31 AM] Sebastian: Monroe glares at von Wolff. “You may have trained me in magic, Georg, but I do owe a certain loyalty to the Tsar. Maybe it’s foolish, but that’s the way I am.”
[5:49:06 AM] Maelys: Maelys walks over and pats Monroe’s arm. “And that’s why your friends are upset with the Tsar for mistrusting and mistreating you, Monroe. Von Wolff is simply angry.” She pauses, then says thoughtfully, “The last time I was this angry I came within a hair of attempted homicide.”
[5:51:36 AM] Sebastian: Monroe looks at Scula thoughtfully. “I… Scula, I would really like to know you better before I decide anything. That’s reasonable, right?” He adds the last sentace with a glance at you and vW.
[5:56:18 AM] Sebastian: Scula nods excitedly. “Of course! I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
[5:57:56 AM] Maelys: Maelys sighs happily. “Okay, is that settled? Is anyone going to burst into tears? I think that the reception should be starting right about now, so I vote that we go and congratulate Chrysal, because even if we’re mad at her husband she still deserves a way better wedding day than she’s had so far. Especially you, Scula, you’re one of her best friends so you’d better be there.”
[5:59:38 AM] Sebastian: Scula, “You’re right, it should be starting now… I want to take my friends aside and explain what’s happened, if the Tsar hasn’t, but I don’t know how awkward it would be for Chrysal to be missing during her wedding, even for a few minutes.”
[6:03:27 AM] Maelys: Maelys heads out the door. “I’m going to go find Alleuia, gods only know where she ended up. I’ll meet up with you at the reception, okay?” She escapes.
[6:04:05 AM] Sebastian: I FORGOT ABOUT ALLEUIA!!
[6:05:19 AM] Maelys: I know
[6:05:26 AM] Maelys: I just went, wait, where’s Alleuia!
[6:05:40 AM] Maelys: (Answer: still limping up the stairs)
[6:05:45 AM] Maelys: (Scula just shoved past her on her way up)
[6:05:49 AM] Sebastian: Actually that probably is the ansewr
[6:06:08 AM] Sebastian: There’s a reason Alleuia’s rooms are on the second floor.
[6:07:27 AM] Sebastian: Alright, go find Allauia and go to the wedding with her, Sebastian will probably go with von Wolff.
[6:07:54 AM] Sebastian: ((What everyone else is doing at the wedding: Ehimay: Patting bunnies))
[6:08:04 AM] Sebastian: ((trudy: Hitting on guys / hanging out with cat lady
[6:09:52 AM] Maelys: Maelys finds Alleuia, fills her in on what’s happened, and then goes to the wedding reception with her.
[6:11:36 AM] Sebastian: About half an hour into the wedding, Scula pulls Chrysal and the other witches over and talks to them for a few minutes. Iris looks like she’s really upset, like she’s going to go and actually punch the Tsar, but Scula looks like she’s talking her out of it.
[6:11:41 AM] Sebastian: Chrysal looks really upset, actually.
[6:11:52 AM] Sebastian: And she goes to talk to the Tsar
[6:11:57 AM] Sebastian: Making this wedding offically awkward.
[6:20:24 AM] Sebastian: “How dare you? HOW DARE YOU?!?! Listen here Dmitri, just because you’re a wizard doesn’t mean you get to be a bully! You may have unlimited cosmic power but you do not I repeat you do NOT manipulate my friends! YOU GOT THAT?”
[6:20:36 AM] Sebastian: Tsar: “Chrysall…”
[6:20:58 AM] Sebastian: Chrysal: “Well?”
[6:21:20 AM] Sebastian: “But the red-haried one’s annoying”
[6:21:58 AM] Maelys: Chrysal: And I am very sorry that you feel that way. But you’re the Tsar, so pull yourself together, man!
[6:22:20 AM] Maelys: Tsar: But… I…
[6:22:29 AM] Maelys: Chrysal: Don’t you “but I” me, mister!
[6:23:04 AM] Maelys: "Now what do you have to say for yourself?? I said, what do you have to say for yourself?!?
[6:23:12 AM] Maelys: Tsar: bursts into tears
[6:23:45 AM] Maelys: Chrysal: There, there. No need to cry. You’re not a bad Tsar. You just made a bad decision.
[6:24:09 AM] Maelys: But pack your things. You’re sleeping on the couch tonight.
[6:24:25 AM] Sebastian: WORST WEDDING NIGHT EVER
[6:26:31 AM] Maelys: Chrysal: You! Just who do you think you are, going around altering other people’s personalities! You should be ashamed of yourself! I have half a mind to find your mother and tell her what you’ve been up to, young man! Now you go over there and make sure my friend Scula is back to normal, and apologize to Monroe! And don’t you ever let me catch you doing this again, do you understand?!?
[6:26:42 AM] Maelys: Tsar: But… My mother’s a devil…
[6:26:52 AM] Maelys: Chrysal: DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!?!?
[6:27:28 AM] Sebastian: ((BTW, The Tzar’s invisible mom disappeared ruing the fighting))
[6:29:08 AM] Sebastian: You’re an oracle, and she wasn’t hiding from you like Alleuia.
[6:29:12 AM] Sebastian: And Sebastian’s a tiefling.
[6:31:15 AM] Sebastian: Okay well yeah the Tsar’s goinna talk to you later that night. Probably during a boring part where it’s dancing time but he doesn’t want to dance.
[6:31:26 AM] Maelys: I am probably not dancing a ton either
[6:31:35 AM] Sebastian: You have nobody to dance with
[6:31:46 AM] Sebastian: Well I guess there are people you could attempt to dance with
[6:32:00 AM] Maelys: I will dance with friends, and people who ask me to be polite.
[6:32:07 AM] Maelys: But, you know, I’m still in love with Khamsin.
[6:32:21 AM] Sebastian: Sebastian will probably ask you for a friendly dance.
[6:32:25 AM] Sebastian: Because he’s sebastian.
[6:32:46 AM] Maelys: My beloved minion
[6:32:51 AM] Maelys: I will dance with Rakin
[6:32:58 AM] Sebastian: Also, Monroe is one of those people who will dance alone by himself.
[6:33:04 AM] Sebastian: Just sort of awkwardly shuffling
[6:33:05 AM] Maelys: I will dance with Monroe
[6:33:11 AM] Maelys: He is my biffle
[6:33:18 AM] Sebastian: although they’re probably doign really formal dances and suchlike.
[6:33:21 AM] Maelys: Scula had better dance with him, too. >O
[6:33:25 AM] Sebastian: Okay, after being shocked for about a second he accepts.
[6:33:55 AM] Sebastian: He adds, “Like you dancing with Sebastian, right?”
[6:34:14 AM] Sebastian: Monroe gets really awkward with things with even the slighttest hint of romantic activity.
[6:37:54 AM] Sebastian: Okay, now the last scene before I will finaly sleep
If you haven’t notice the timestamp, it’s six in the flipping morning!!!!!!
[6:38:08 AM] Sebastian: Later during the night, the Tsar finally comes up to you.
[6:38:20 AM] Sebastian: “You know, not many people actually stand up to me.”
[6:43:51 AM] Maelys: Maelys replies, “Well, they say a cat may look at a king, and among my people it is said that a dragon may too.” She smiles slightly. “It is not good for anyone, even a ruler, to get his way unquestioned all the time.”
[6:45:59 AM] Sebastian: “You’re right. I make my plans, and very rarely do I remember that these are actual people caught up in them. Now, since you know Monroe better than I do, I’d like to know: is there anything else you think I should do to make this up to him?”
[6:52:05 AM] Sebastian: Age chart! Helorie: 42
Mane 6: 28 (except for the dead ones)
[6:53:28 AM] Sebastian: He’s a wizard of course he loves books
[7:06:43 AM] Sebastian: Monroe Likes: Unicorns, Books, Wizard Things, rare metals/ingredients for crafting.
[7:06:49 AM] Sebastian: He would also probably like an apology
[7:08:01 AM] Maelys: Maelys replies, “Monroe has a passion for books, as I believe you are aware, and if you know of any particularly rare or interesting texts that would be of interest to a diviner, I am sure he would appreciate them greatly.” She pauses for a moment. “I also believe that he would appreciate a token of some sort, a medallion, a title, an award, something acknowledging his loyalty to you, which I assure you is immense. And, perhaps, an apology.”
[7:11:59 AM] Sebastian: “Well, of course I can get him some tomes. I’ll talk to him tomorrow to appolagize to him, and ask him what he’d like that he doesn’t already have.”
[7:13:14 AM] Sebastian: He thinks fora second, then continues. “I never wished to question Monroe’s loyalty, but at the same time I worried that Scula would sympathize with him more and not wish to be around him enough for the transformation to take place. Though if he is concerned about it, though I don’t know why, I’m sure I can make something up to award to him.”
[7:16:02 AM] Maelys: Maelys stares at the Tsar, just a little, then regains her composure. “Your Majesty, you lied to him, deceived him, allowed him to think that he was going to die, and enchanted a goddess into behaving cruelly towards him. You didn’t tell him the truth because you didn’t trust him to be loyal to you despite his own inclinations, and I think that hurt him deeply. A small gesture would go a long way towards repairing some of that hurt, I believe.”
[7:19:19 AM] Sebastian: The Tsar sighs. “Well, I did hire him and pay for his education and academic expenses. The services he renders me and his-” he pauses suddenly and stops. “What sort of reward or whatever? I’m not exactly in the habit of giving cerimonial tokens.”
[7:25:46 AM] Maelys: Maelys considers this. “Well, your majesty, neither am I, but perhaps a plaque or medal of some sort? Or, perhaps, due to his new powers, you could grant him a position of greater responsibility and trust?”
[7:28:12 AM] Sebastian: “Well, I was already going to do that of course, due to the fact he’ll be my only pure magic user, except for perhaps that little boy. …He’s with you, right? So of course I’ll be letting him handle more responsiblity, to increase his powers. It’s my dream to have the first level 20 pure magic user (except for Scula, of course) under my employ.”
Out of the entire conversation about how everyone whines to Maelys, this is the part I have kept.
[7:31:00 AM] Sebastian: If the Tsar ever gave you a fancy title it would be “Wizard Wrangler, Offical Cry Pillow and Discoverer of Awkward Secrets”
[7:55:56 AM] Sebastian: Meklar is too busy being a giant box to get married. However, if you want adorable god babies, this will be happening in the late-game campaign
The funny bit about this is that Melkar does have a romantic interest in the sequel campaign, although they are not married. Also it is mostly a relationship where they read books together and the like, because he is still mainly a giant box.
[8:06:45 AM] Maelys: Maelys says, “That sounds like a good idea, your majesty,” then nods respectfully and goes back to her seat, hoping that this stuff will successfully make Monroe feel better"
